Reflection

The Husbands Secret

I have read one of Liane Motriarys books The Husbands Secret and I loved it. The way that it was writen made me never want to put the book down. I found it very unusual that she wrote her book in three different perspectives; meaning she used muliple story lines that eventually all linked together in the end of the book. I am not used to reading a book like this. It allowed me to think of the book in a more analytical way. Instead of just reading the book in one lense which is what I usually do, you had to use different lenses or prespectives to understand the messsage the author wanted to get across.

In the end I throughly enjoyed reading this novel. If I were to make a change in the story I presonally like to have a clear understanding of what happened in the end. What Liane did in the end of the story was tell you a small detail that you had to interpret into the ending that you wanted. I feel like this allowed me to become a better reader but I like to know for sure what happened in this book. Do you like books that tell you what happened or do you like to interpret what happened in the book?

  2. This book sounds really interesting. In my opinion I think there are pros and cons of having a book tell you what happened or interpreting what happened. Sometimes it is nice for the book to tell you what happened because then the book seems to be more complete. But on the other side its sometimes nice to interpret what happened at the end although it does leave you wondering what really happened.
