Reasons to Be Happy

I have recently started to read the great novel How to Be Happy by Katrina Kittle. This book is very real for me. It hits on a lot of topics that I can relate to.  The main topic is fitting in. The girl Hannah in the book feels like she has to change her body image to fit in with the other girls. I personally can see where she is coming from. For example sometimes you don't want to wear a shirt that you love just because you think other people will judge you. In the book Hannah struggles with her weight and she wants to change the way that she appears in order to make herself happy but mostly others happy. I think that we can all learn from this book because you shouldn't have to change who you are to make others happy.

The author throughout the story adds blurbs of things that make Hannah happy. Like "Silly Putty, Hammocks and Slinkies" (pg 43). I think that everybody should do this to remember to do the things that make you happy and don't worry about what others think of you. What are some things that make you happy?

Reflection

The Husbands Secret

I have read one of Liane Motriarys books The Husbands Secret and I loved it. The way that it was writen made me never want to put the book down. I found it very unusual that she wrote her book in three different perspectives; meaning she used muliple story lines that eventually all linked together in the end of the book. I am not used to reading a book like this. It allowed me to think of the book in a more analytical way. Instead of just reading the book in one lense which is what I usually do, you had to use different lenses or prespectives to understand the messsage the author wanted to get across.

In the end I throughly enjoyed reading this novel. If I were to make a change in the story I presonally like to have a clear understanding of what happened in the end. What Liane did in the end of the story was tell you a small detail that you had to interpret into the ending that you wanted. I feel like this allowed me to become a better reader but I like to know for sure what happened in this book. Do you like books that tell you what happened or do you like to interpret what happened in the book?
